About The Serra Club

The Serra Club of Tulsa invites you to join us in our mission and ministry. We are part of Serra International, a global organization of Catholic laymen and lay women devoted to foster and promote vocations through prayer, awareness, affirmation and support. The Serra Club of Tulsa was established August 15, 1995 and works closely with Bishop Slattery and the Diocese of Tulsa - Office of Vocations. The Serra Club  Promotes Vocations through prayer, awareness, affirmation and support:

*Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament -

St. Francis Xavier Chapel every Thursday - Praying for the intention of religious vocations, and an opportunity to spend an hour of prayer in the presence of the Holy Eucharist.    Contact Theresa Klein email kleinfred@sbcglobal.net

*The Traveling Vocation Crucifix and/or Chalice Program -

Many parishes pray the Vocation Prayer together each Sunday, after an individual or family takes the Crucifix or Chalice home to offer daily prayer for vocations for a week.  Contact Bob Pielsticker email BobPiel@swbell.net to start a program in your parish.

*Life Awareness Retreat -

Single Catholic men and women, ages 17-45, are invited to come together for a summer weekend during which there are presentations, private consultations and discussions, focused on how God might be calling them to live out their vocation, whether it be the religious, married or single life.  The retreat in June 2008 was held at the St. Philip Neri Newman Center at the University of Tulsa.   Contact Wayne Rziha, Director of Recruitment of Promotion, Diocesan Office of Vocations:   918-744-0023, Ext. 18, or wayne.rziha@dioceseoftulsa.org

*Fifth Grade Vocation Awareness Days and Poster Contest -

Our 5th Grade Vocation Day gives all 5th graders, whether from Catholic schools or from parish Religious Education classes, an opportunity to come together with priests and religious men and women to discuss religious vocations. Boys meet with priests and girls with sisters to listen, chat, and ask questions.  The Annual Poster Contest is intended to reflect the “Vocation Lifestyle and God’s Calling.”
